Competing in my second straight TT Contest brought on a different set of challenges from the first. After losing 27 pounds and placing in the previous contest, the bar was set pretty high. This time around, I didn’t have a large amount of weight to lose. Instead, I shifted my focus to a few other areas.
The first was to lose body fat. In order to do that, knew I needed to build more muscle mass. I used the heaviest amount of weight and the most reps I could handle while doing my TT workouts. Nutrition was also a big focus as I continued to eliminate the food/drink that got me into trouble in the first place.
The second area of focus was to regain stamina. Finishing a third shift job and going straight to Sheboygan Fit Body Boot Camp usually left me pretty drained. The workouts continue to be fast paced and fun allowing me just enough energy to really push myself.
Along with feeling healthier and being off prescription medication permanently, I felt like I’ve made great strides towards those goals. This past October at the age of 44, I completed my first of hopefully many Tough Mudder events. That involved over 10 miles and 20 plus obstacles. Without the TT workouts the last 6 months, there is no way I could have run even 1 mile.
This time around I lost 16.4 lbs, 5.5 Inches and 3.1 %body fat. Although the numbers are slightly less, the mirror check says another story. Not only do I look and feel healthy, my confidence is at an all time high as well.
Once again I want to thank Nick, Brent, Alyssa, and Brittany along with SFBBC for pushing me towards these goals and opening up a new wardrobe I haven’t touched in years.
