Wow what a journey this has been! My name is Amber Carrion; 7 years ago I entered a gym for my first time. Oh how scared I was walking in there, not knowing anything about working out. For a long time I was a hamster and I would walk in the gym and head straight the treadmill, set it at 3.0, and 45 min later I would leave. That happened for a few years and then my now husband proposed to me. Oh no, I knew I wanted a cruise wedding so that means bathing suits galore.
I have never felt uncomfortable in my skin; I lived by the saying brown fat looks better then white fat, so wearing a bikini was never an issue.
However, getting married and 50 of my closest friends and family attending made me kick it into high gear. I hired a trainer, started lifting weights, and changed my eating, and what do you know, I lost pounds and inches. I was proud and looked great on my wedding day. As the next few years passed, I gained all my pounds and inches back. I have always been on a roller coaster with my weight.
Now let’s fast forward, April 2011, my certified Turbulence Trainer Mike Whitfield and I have worked together for many years, he has seen my ups and downs. During April 2011 I attended his full body boot camp class 3 days a week, trained at the gym 2 days a week and cleaned up my eating. I chose an eating style of intermitting fasting & a cheat day. I was kicked in to overdrive by my loss of 10lbs and wanted more. I have continued to train with Mike Whitfield since then. In September 2011 Mike talked to me about this contest; who wouldn’t want to get lean, gain muscle, and possibly $1000?
During the last few months my certified Turbulence Trainer Mike Whitfield, has trained me using modified versions of the following programs: TK3, Big 6 Circuits, & Hot Zone. I am happy to say that I have continued with his training programs and as of today, I am 142lbs and 6 inches down. According to Mike, this is the leanest he has ever seen me. Thank you for teaching Mike so he could teach me.
