Deb Overcomes Injury to Lose 14 Pounds of Fat and Fits Back Into Her Skinny Jeans!


I am full time dental hygienist. One of my responsibilities is taking every patients health history. What better motivation to become healthy, than hearing the long list of medications patients are taking for primarily preventable diseases.

I’ve always been healthier than not when it comes to diet and exercise. About six years ago, I took most meat products out of my diet. I am not a vegan and I do eat select fish.

I was adamant that when I turned 40, two years ago, I would not complain of all the aches and pains I hear from other 40+ year old people. I was doing quite well until April 2008 when I was in a motorcycle accident. I broke my left leg and right foot. I basically sat around for 3-1/2 months, which is far from my nature. My physical therapist stated that I healed quickly because I was in such good physical condition. I can’t imagine the recovery for someone in poor condition.

Most of my regular exercise routines did not resume until a year later. I gained about 15lbs. in that year with a lot of extra fat. My friend introduced me to Turbulence Training in 2009. I was a little skeptical. I do work full time and have two wonderful kids that are involved on a swim team. My leg was still less than 100%.

I started out slow. I was amazed how quickly my muscles were feeling stronger, but I didn’t totally do the whole program. I didn’t do complete interval training. I wanted to lose 10-15lbs. so I decided to do the Turbulence Competition.

I started by finishing two weeks of the Original TT with intervals. I moved into 2K3, 2K4, and finished up with Booty for Life. I was amazed at the support of my family, friends, and coworkers. My daughter would even push me if I had a particularly rough day. She would ask me if I had worked out and proceed to tell me how important it was to go and do it right now. If I didn’t understand an exercise my neighbors always helped.

I was also thrilled to see when I posted questions Craig answered in unbelievable time!

I tightened up my diet. I increased my whole foods. I am definitely much better about planning my meals ahead of time. I have plenty of healthy snacks on hand, so that I am not tempted by the kid’s snacks in their pantry.

Overall, because of TT, I don’t tread my workouts. I feel great about theprogress I’ve made and I’m looking forward to making future progress. My first goal was to not have pain in my leg anymore. My second was to lose fat and to gain muscle. In essence I wanted to be more tone. I am so pleased that I am stronger than ever and my leg feels great.

I’m grateful that my friends introduced me to TT. It is a great program that I can see using for life. Many people have noticed my changes and have commented how great I look. And for me, even better than fitting into my skinny jeans, I no longer have pain in my leg.
