As the title of my thread suggests, I'm on the hunt for a six pack! I want to achieve the look that the bikini/fitness girls have in competitions, but I didn't want to spend the endless hours they seem to spend doing boring cardio and working out, I don't have time for that, I'm a busy mum of 2, working full time!
I came across Turbulence Training when I was searching for a new fitness programme. The fact that this was 3 short workouts per week really appealed to me, I'm done with weights and HIIT in under an hour!
The 9th Turbulence Training contest couldn't have happened at a better time for me. Since last November I have lost over 2 stone, and I was on a mission to get my six pack and drop that last 10lbs. Whilst the 6 pack is not on show yet, I have awesome definition and in 6 short weeks I have dropped 6lbs and 7 ¼ inches! I am delighted with my results, and cant wait for the full 12 week contest to get totally ripped.
My measurements the 6 weeks:
Weight - Lost 6lbs
Waist - Lost 0.75 inches
Belly Fat - Lost 1.5 inches
Hips - Lost 1 inch
I've had weight issues all my adult life; I went on my first "diet"? when I was only 15 years old. Last year was a big turning point for me, I was fast approaching my 30th birthday and I was sick of food being in control.
When I came back from holiday last November my weight had crept up from 9st10lbs in the summer, to 10st 10lbs. I'd put on a stone in weight in about 2 months. I was utterly disgusted with myself that once again I had let food control me. By Christmas I was 11 stone.
Enough was enough! Boxing Day 2009 is when I bit the bullet and changed my whole mindset to food and exercise; these were changes that I was making for life. I was determined that I would transform my body from being podgy and soft, to lean and sexy, the sexiest it had ever been.
I have two beautiful children (Robyn 10 and Holly 8), who are the lights of my life. During my pregnancy I got stretch marks and Holly was delivered by c section, I thought all my life I would have issues with my stomach.
However, on this body transformation journey, the more I have came to accept things I cannot change i.e. stretch marks, and things I can.
I think more mothers should be informed of the things they can achieve through good nutrition and exercise. I want to give hope to other mums that they can still look amazing even though their bodies have gone through pregnancy, especially those that have had c sections, it's like, well all
your good for is a tummy tuck, but actually through proper nutrition, and by that I mean eating as clean as you can, build in cheat meals, and know how many calories you need to be eating for fat loss, ultimately finding out what works for you, and working out sensibly, no long boring cardio, and appreciate what working out with weights can do for your figure, as well as HIIT, we can achieve the most amazing results.
The beauty of the TT workouts is they can be done in your own home, no fancy equipment is required, oh, and did I mention I'm done with my workout in under an hour! The workouts are also fun, yes I said fun! Whilst they are challenging, and I workout hard, each move I do brings me a sense of achievement and one step closer to my goals.
The TT forums are a great place for me to share my goals with the other TT members, and they are always on hand to provide me support and encouragement when I need it. Having my own thread on the forum helped me be accountable to the people supporting me and has definitely helped me to remain focused on my six pack journey!
All the best,
Betty
