Darren Loses 34 lbs, 12.9% Body Fat and 8 Inches from his Waist in 12 Weeks.


I started my Transformation on May 1, 2011 and finished on July 23, 2011.

Results:

Starting Weight 198 lbs  -->  Finish 164lbs  [Lost 34.0lbs] Starting Bodyfat 21.2%  --> Finish 8.3%  [Lost 12.9%] Starting Waist 39.0"  -->  Finish 31"  [Lost 8.0"]

Workouts I used. (All workouts done from home in my basement.) Weeks 1-4: Turbulence Training for Fat Loss Intermediate Weeks 5-8: 2K4 Workout Weeks 9-12: Buff Dudes and Hot Chicks Workout

I started 12 weeks ago, out of shape and I hadn't worked out in 6 months. The pounds had slowly crept up on me. I was feeling lazy and weak. I decided this would be the time I would finally reach my goal. 

Enough with the wishing, time to start doing.

I have a growing family, 3 boys ages 4 and under so I don't have time to waste driving to the gym and waiting for equipment. I needed a program that I could do from home that would motivate me to stay with the program. I thought a Transformation Contest would be something that would keep me motivated. I had already previously tried some Turbulence Training workouts and loved them. I also thought it would be great to win a platinum membership. So the prize was something that would definitely motivate me.

I went on the Turbulence Training forum and looked at previous contest entry?s for inspiration and to see what was working for everyone else. 

There were so many workouts to choose from that I didn't know where to start. I decided to post a question to Craig and let him choose for me. I went along with his recommendations and I also took some tips from the Turbulence Training Nutrition Guide.

To keep myself on course I made sure to post in the Turbulence Training forum each day of my transformation. I missed a couple days but made sure to still add an extra post with the following day. I started with my calendar on the fridge marking off when and which workout I would be doing each day. I only postponed 1 workout and it was the first week due to a sore back. Other then that I made each workout like it was an appointment and it couldn't be broken.

I've been counting my calories each day. I have a goal amount for each meal so I try to stick to that number. Sometimes I am even getting out the scale to measure my food even though I get made fun of for doing it. I have turned down probably around 45 treats I've been offered, eaten salad without dressing, consumed only 0 calorie drinks with the exception of milk and vegetable juice. I eliminated tempting foods from the cupboard and stocked up on fruits and vegetables.

After 3 weeks I was seeing results but I needed to make a change with my nutrition. No more eating every 3 hrs and consuming protein shakes every day. This was no longer for me. I didn't want to have to work around a diet anymore. I found Brad Pilon's Eat Stop Eat program. This really helped me get control of my eating habits and cut the calories so I would be able to lose fat.

By the 6 week point I was already down 18.5 lbs, 6.8% bodyfat and 4.75 inches on my waist. I thought this was great and that I was pretty close to my goal of finding my six pack.

The fat kept dropping off and I was eventually lower then I can remember being before. I think I use to be about 162 in grade 12. That was about 15 years ago. I had a lot less muscle back then. I still can't believe I made it to 164 lbs and being able to see a six pack.

If you really want to make a change in your life, don't wait. Quit the crying, complaining and the lame excuses. You are probably spending 45 minutes a week on each of those. That's all it takes to make a Turbulence Training Transformation like I did. Only 45 minutes, 3 times a week. Some of my workouts may have been even shorter.
