I am a 62-year-old mother of 4 and grandmother of 6. I have exercised regularly for the past 25 ears. When I saw the contest, Craig was having I doubted it would work for me. After all, I didn’t look so ad.
I was in a size 10 most of my adult life and after exercising 5-6 days a week, I told myself that wasn’t so bad. I looked at other that my age and we all looked about the same. Belly budge, back fat, thighs, muffin top, etc.
I can't be helped; I told myself...it was what happens as we age. But I decided I was not being truthful with myself. I did not like the way I looked or the way my clothes fit me. Ok, I thought, let me see if what all these TT people say is true. So I entered the contest.
This is when I discovered there is a difference between exercising and working out! I had been doing long, boring cardio for years and nothing changed. Sure, I felt I was probably healthier on the inside, but I wanted my body to change, and it didn't. I bought the 24/7 Fat Loss DVDs and began. The workouts are hard, but that's what a workout should be...when I'm done, I definitely feel like I've worked out! (As for the foam rolling, I had never done that before nor even ever heard of it...the phrase "hurts so good" comes to mind, and I love it!)
I always felt I did eat healthy but discovered there is also a difference between eating healthy food and changing your diet to eat healthy food the majority of the time. Yes, I ate healthy food, but I was also eating things that were counterproductive to meet my goals. I have tried eliminating sugar and white flour products, except for maybe a cheat meal and it hasn't been that bad.
I have found many recipes that I can make without these products, and they are delicious...I don't feel deprived at all! I also have tried to eliminate foods with names in the ingredients that I can't pronounce. I try to stick to nature's foods for the majority of my choices. I also did Eat Stop Eat one to two days a week. The great thing is…..I FEEL fit!
I find myself RUNNING up the stairs in my house without even realizing what I am doing! I am now in a very comfortable size 6!!! Yippee!!!
