I leapt into my first official turbulence training contest confident that with this amazing program, my past weight loss experience and my steel will, I would rock this challenge!

I was your classic rebound girl. I have transformed my body many times, due to my previous inability to maintain the “body” I had worked so hard to sculpt.

Here I was again. The holidays were over and I found myself outgrowing my husbands’ pants, full Santa belly jiggling over the waistband.

I knew what to do. I set my weight goals, measured and recorded every possible body part, cleaned the cupboard out of tempting food despite cries from the children. Fiercely defensive of my workout time I arranged our whole family schedule around my gym time.

Although I had not trained in months I planned to do the advanced 2K4 program for the first 4 weeks. I did not intend to take free meals and planned to avoid social outings for the 12 weeks.

I was off to a great start, and was excited by the changes I was seeing almost daily.

On day 10 my computer crashed and I lost all of my beginning stats and photos.

Mentally I almost gave up. Not consciously at first, I took new photos, continued my workouts, but a lot of food was creeping back into my diet that I never touched in transformation mode. I pondered this and was shocked by the revelations that I had unconsciously decided my challenge was ruined and that I was relieved by this.

I finally really took the time to think about my values and how they tied into my goals. I love the workouts and seeing the changes but the cost was too great the way I had it planned.

As a result I completely changed my focus from perfection to balance. I allowed myself to keep it fun. I always have beat myself up for not maintaining, but it is no wonder I have never succeeded, I don’t want to live like that.

I started over with the beginner program, just because I had never tried it. I followed with intermediate AND THEN the Advanced 2K4 program. I planned my workouts around my families’ schedule which is very easy to do with turbulence training.

I ate balanced meals with lots of fruit (formerly a forbidden treat) and veges and followed two plans during the challenge. I followed Jayson Hunters carb rotation diet as well as Brad Pilons Eat Stop Eat.

It was so nice not to have to plan meals on ESE and I did not find the fasting a challenge at all. My meals were balanced and I did not feel at all deprived or depleted. I spent quality time with family and did not avoid all outings with food temptations. I enjoyed and moved on!

Starting Weight- 165
Ending weight - 137

Starting Body fat- 26%
Ending body fat- 19%

I am very happy with my results this challenge. However, the physical changes are secondary to finally finding that elusive balance and family harmony.

I have no desire to follow my traditional end of challenge protocol of speeding off to a fast food binge. I enjoyed the process and actually almost forgot the deadline was today!"
