Softball, basketball, hockey, ultimate frisbee, soccer, squash, tennis....literally any sport would do. I remember being 21 and having some sort of sport to play every night of the week. I loved it all! I also remember when I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain a pound.
I was 26 when I first injured my knee playing soccer. My activity level dropped to an all time low. The pounds started to pile on. After my son was born, I reached the highest weight I've ever been, 180 pounds! I had never felt so sluggish in my entire life.
I dieted, worked out at home, and tried to go to classes at the gym. But none of these changes I was trying to make stuck with me. It was impossible to maintain 1.5-2 hour workouts at home. I couldn't even make it to group classes at the gym because of shift work and childcare. I always quit and gained weight back. I am now 32, and still working to lose the weight I gained and build the muscle I had lost.
I was 160 pounds when I first hired a personal trainer. I was able to gain some muscle back to help rehabilitate my knee. But still, I couldn't stick to a proper diet. I was still very unhappy with how I looked. My clothes still didn't fit. I didn't feel motivated and going to the gym felt like a chore.
Then I met Shelley, a Turbulence Training Instructor. She suggested I enter the transformation contest. I thought about it and decided it would be a great way to keep me motivated. I needed a fresh start to help pull me out of the rut I was in. Shelley gave me great motivation and guidance. She really made an impression on me!
Over the past 3 months, I have done the TT workouts with Shelley and changed my unhealthy eating habits. I increased my vegetables and made sure I had protein with every meal and snack. I signed up for My Daily Workouts and on the TT website. It was great being able to fit in short 4-10 minute workouts on the days I wasn't training with Shelley.
I absolutely love the TT workouts! Time really does fly by when you're having fun! The variety keeps me on my toes. I have noticed an improvement in my strength training abilities over the past 12 weeks and I am loving every minute of it! I want more! I sleep better at night, I have more energy during the day, and I fit my clothes again! I most definitely think that Turbulence Training is for me! The program has given me a foundation to continue down a healthier road. I want to keep going, realize more fat loss and achieve my weight goal of 135 pounds. With TT workouts, I have a positive and healthy outlook for the future! Thank you Shelley and Craig!
