Total Weight Lost - 19.5 lbs and total inches lost - 13.25
Tomorrow..... I’m going to start my diet, so today I will eat whatever I want, because tomorrow I won’t be able to. And so the story continues the next day and the next day. I have tried several diets over the years and lost weight on them all, but once I reached a comfortable weight, I would go back to my old eating habits and would gain it back again. My weight has always fluctuated back and forth.
When I was younger I was always actively involved in sports and loved to compete. But as the years passed, emotional stress, being a mother and putting others before myself, took it’s toll and I just didn’t have anything left to give myself and I had let myself go.
I joined the gym about two years ago and would always make sure I got my cardio in and then some weights. I would take in the odd fitness class thinking this was just an extra if I had the time and wasn’t always making healthy food choices and was never seeing the results I wanted.
Plus, I was pretty good at coming up with excuses and listening to that little voice in my head tell me why I didn’t have time to fit it in that day. I had convinced myself that I really didn’t look that bad, I was a size 12 and that was pretty good, wasn’t it?
A couple of members from our local gym, Stretch Fitness, entered the Turbulence Training Contest this past winter and saw great results. Stretch owner, Corey Arsenault, was encouraging members to join the next TT Content starting in May.
So, I immediately checked out the web page thinking a contest would motivate me to challenge myself. After reading about the Turbulence Training methods I realized I was going about it all wrong and decided to start taking the fitness classes offered at Stretch.
I love the classes, they are a hard workout and seeing other members work hard in the class motivates me to push myself.
I have changed my eating habits and follow Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet and I am trying really hard to eat clean 90% of the time. But the biggest change for me has been mentally, making the decision that this is it, no more tomorrow, it’s all about today and what I can do for myself today to make me a stronger healthier person.
I was quite upset after having my picture taken for this challenge. The visual I had in my head was not the same as one that the camera had captured. At the end of my 12 weeks I have lost 19.5 lbs and 13.25 inches.
I am very happy with my results, not just the lbs and inches, but with my commitment to working out and my new eating habits. I feel great and confident and I am going to continue this new life style.
In my mind I am still that young woman who likes to be active and loves to compete. I look forward to attending classes at the gym and having the members continue to motivate me and look forward to dropping another 10lbs. Thank you for this challenge and giving me the motivation to kick start my new healthy lifestyle.
Nutrition Program Followed:
I already had Tosca Reno’s Eat Clean Diet books so I read those again which is the same as Craig tells us, avoid foods with added sugar or that come in a bag or a box, eat fiber rich foods at every meal and avoid all liquid calories. Not having my diet pop is still a challenge especially in the summer. I used to have it as a sweet treat, so I still miss that.
Turbulence Training Workout:
Corey at Stretch Fitness always had great workouts planned each day and it would always mix it up so we didn't get bored.
